Curatorial Remarks

Note

Miscellaneous: Hebe, of course, was the daughter of Zeus and Hera, in Greek mythology, the pre-Ganymede cup-bearer of the gods, and the goddess of youth. As the latter, she was endowed with the power to restore youth and beauty to the old. As for "bumper", it was (and is yet) a large glass, or one filled to the brim, or a toast given with either such. Vendor described as "Old Bennington Cider Jug".
