General Note

Note

This map is dated circa 1870 because of its strong similarities to the map appearing as page 10 in F.W. Beers & Co.'s 1867 Atlas of New York & Vicinity. This particular map does not appear at all in Beers's 1868 atlas, and it is not likely to be from J.B. Beers's 1872 atlas, which features different and less ornamented bordes surrounding the maps. Genevieve Swenson, Curatorial Intern, 8/23/04 Comments based on research at Westchester County Archives, 8/18/04 Decision made not to link this map to the Bibliographic Module for the 1867 Beers, Ellis and Soule Atlas of New York and Vicinity. 9/2/04
