A sterling silver pocket watch. The front and back sides open; the front face has an inscribed circular pattern inside. The face is porcelain with Roman numerals on it. The winder is capped by a loop; a second face is on the dial and shows the seconds. The back opens up and shows the cogs, which are exposed and a regulator for adjusting the speed is seen. Then a cover covers the back and is engraved; another back closes on this and is inscribed similarly to the front with the circles.
