Description

One of a set of eighteen pots de creme with covers and three extra covers in the "cornflower design": cup with slightly flaring sides has relatively narrow stem which flares to round foot; handle is roughly square with bottom that drops at an angle to join body; cover tapers to pointed finial; decoration consists of gilt border with a hand-painted overall random pattern of a blue sprigged flower, red oxide highlights, green leaves; gilt decoration on tops of finials, line at base of finial, at edge of cover, at upper edge of cup, at edge of foot rim.
