At a meeting of the Vestry of Christ Church / Tarrytown held on the 29th day of April / 1973 The following resolution was unanimously / passed.
Whereas, The late Washington Irving was / for many years a member of this Parish / and was at the time of his death one of / the Wardens.
Resolved, That the Pew now Known as / No. 26. In Christ Church Tarrytown, In / which the said Washington Irving / worshipped be and the same is / hereby declared to be forever free / for the use of the surviving members / of his family.
