Description

Yellow earthenware with molded relief pattern. Round dish is a simulated basket with scalloped top edge. Pattern of flat lid imitates wheat. Two standing chicks that stood on lid are now broken off (and stored inside) with only their feet remaining. Ankles of one set of feet are yellow painted metal. A third chick remains on lid, nestled into half an eggshell. Four additional eggshells on lid, all painted white. Lidded dish fits into flat central portion of a matching tray/plate with raised relief border of wheat.
