Condition

Notes

Remarks: During inventory work in June 2017, it was found that the lid of this piece is now solidly affixed to the body, and that a spilt has opened in the body near the lip, possibly where force has been exerted over time to separate the pieces. The lid appears to have old polish as a "glue" keeping the pieces together. As a result of the split in the metal, they should not be forced apart.

Notes

Remarks: Piece is slightly bent out of shape, especially the handle and base; several small dents on side of body; brass dull throughout; small gap where dome top meets top opening; incised line design around dome top edge is mostly worn off.

General Note

Note

As lid seems to be solidly affixed, and given the current condition of this piece (see Condition Notes), the accession number has been changed, although "a-b" remains as an alternate number [Jessa J. Krick, 6/22/2017].
