Description

Soup bowl, shallow and circular in shape and configuration with a wide flaring rim which is gilded along the outer edge: a broad band of buff-colored glaze has been applied to the interior surface of the flared rim, the bottom edge of the buff-colored band is delineated by additional bands of gilt; the shallow well of the bowl reveals the white porcelain body, and is decorated at its mid-point with a hand-painted floral spray surrounded by green leafage.

Remarks: Details of condition: A-D: Excellent E: Upper portion near perfect; underside of bowl has large chip. F-L: Good condition, gilt on outer edge of flared rim badly worn. M: Poor condition; large chip on outer edge of rim; approx. 2" crack on opposite side from chip extending from buff glaze of rim into white body of bowl appears on surface only; gilt rim badly worn. N: Poor condition; interior center and underside of bowl exhibits multiple series of cracks radiating from bowl's mid-point; gilt edge badly worn. O: Poor condition; approx. 5" crack visible on bowl's white interior next to painted bouquet through to underside. P: Poor condition; approx. 2" inverted shaped crack from gilt rim through buff glazed border of bowl; visible on underside as well.
