Curatorial Remarks

Note

Reproduction of this painting is located in the Reading Room at 639 Bedford Road. For Visions exhibition, packed in Crate #8. Railroad line was later the New York Central. Note: Post 1848 because the tower is included, also the cowcatcher and bellstack are the type which date from the 1850's and early 1860's. A print of the same scene appeared in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, March 31, 1860, so it probably postdates 1860.
