A 19th century Chinese Export black lacquered, bird decorated, oblong nesting table with four thin, turned legs that consist of: a cylindrical turning; a ball turning; a baluster shaped turning; a ball turning; a squared plinth. The legs rest on a two-sided serpentine foot, terminating in gold painted, carved dragon heads, connecting the back two legs in a curved stretcher. The table top is gilded in gold and painted the color of flowers, branches, and two birds with red feathers and feet. The scene is framed by a gilded gold band of diamonds with a meander motif centered with a rosette in the corners. The table top has concave edges with undulating 'M' shaped corners. Under the table top on the sides, before the legs, are skirts with a gilded floral, berry and vine motif.Made/Created
