Description

A black and white engraving of the battle of Lexington. In the foreground, a group of revolutionaries are confronting a "red coat" on horseback. To the right, a wounded "red coat" hunches over, being helped by a man in white sleeves and a hat. To the left, a revolutionary has fallen dead in front of a drummer. Behind them, a man points a sword, ordering the row of gunmen to fire at the row of "red coats" parallel to them. Behind this scene is a country estate with a barn and mill.
