Description

A polychromatic lithograph of The Government House erected in 1790 for George Washington. The house is seen in three-quarter view with men with carts on the street and two cows seated in the driveway. The house is classically inspired, made of brick with Roman ornamentation; an Ionic columned porch with a triangular pediment with a relief on it. The house is two floors high with an attic and basement. The front windows are rectangular with pedimented caps. Two stairs at the left and right lead up to the porch. The house is to the right, while various other homes line the streets to the left.
