Watercolor of Squirrel

Description

Pen and ink drawing of three flying squirrels climbing on a birch tree. Some color was added by the use of watercolor. This drawing was done by John Ross Delafield when he was 13 years old(1887). The frame is of wood which is painted, a thick black band recessed between thinner gold bands. The drawing is matted by what appears to be some kind of board with a brown woven fabric pattern on it. The actual scene is framed as well by thin shakey black pen lines. The backing is of cardboard with a tag from the family on it. A hanger is present.
