William the Testy astonishing the Council with his new method of waging war
Entry/Object ID
SS.62.32
Description
Wash drawing of interior of room, with five figures in Dutch garb standing around claw-footed table: document with huge seal on ribbon, an over-turned ink bottle spilling into hat on floor; at center of group, small man in tri-cornered hat, with walking stick in left hand, points to document; other figures about table, two of whom wear pointed Dutch hats, puff furiously on clay pipes, a cloud of smoke obscuring all but the nose, mouth and pipe of one; expressions of all but the central figure indicate great surprise.
