A black and white engraving of the Thos. Cole painting "YOUTH". We see a landscape with a river meandering through it. On the right bank is an angelic figure winging towards the heavens in the distance, with an outstretched arm pointing the way for a young man in a boat. The landscape dominates over the figures as a powerful, mysterious place. This print is part of a series of paintings entitled "Stages of Man". Thomas Cole was part of the Hudson River School.
