Leather-bound ledger of water works bonds for the Village of Red Hook kept by the First National Bank of Red Hook. In April 1894 a devastating fire in the village prompted the incorporation of the village and the creation of a water district because it needed its own public water supply and fire company. Presumably this is why the village issued so many water bonds in 1895. The ledger contains entries from 1895 as well as copies of bonds that came due in 1915. In the front is loose correspondence dating up to 1926. The First National Bank of Red hook became Key Bank.Collection
