Business correspondence and papers belonging to Robert Claudius Massonneau (1797-1877), a member of the French immigrant family who in 1812 built a store at the four corners on a piece of property bought from John Armstrong. Robert's father Claudius Massonneau (1769-1846) built a tobacco factory on South Broadway. Collections includes an 1872 newspaper, Aurora Borealis, published by the business.
