The first chapter of this volume focuses on generation one, and traces immigration history of the Minkler/Minckler famlies who emigrated from Germany (probably Hesse) to New York. Specific family members are identified, and a review of the history of Palatine settlement in the New York area is offered starting in early 1700's. Some Mincklers were among the Palatine families who settled in the Germantown area.
The rest of the volume traces the Winckler-Winckler family from generations two through seven, with part II devoted to related families. Appendices include the diary of Pvt. Levi Minkler who died in the Civil War (18th Regiment Wis.).Collection
