Six girls in bathing suits, Margaret Riddelburgh Doty, farthest right. 'Red Hook Bathing Beautes' (sic) written on border. [Note: Chris Klose is certain the photo was taken (looking north) in the middle of the pasture on Echo Valley Farm, which bordered the Sawkill creek (to left, out of the photo) and the adjacent Teator dairy farm. The three girls on the left are sisters Leona Teator, Elizabeth "Betty" Teator and Marian and the fourth is their half-sister Jean Baldwin Teator. The two families shared the swimming hole, which featured a large maple with a rope hanging over the water from which they would swing round and drop in.Photograph Details
