Copy of postcard with image of Rokeby, Homestead of Lieut. Governor Chanler, Barrytown N.Y. Caption in 'A Brief History of Red Hook' reads: LaBergerie: The home of John and Alda Armstrong at Barrytown. LaBergerie was sold to their daughter, Margaret and her husband William B. Astor, who renamed it Rokeby and later, extensively altered the house, adding, among other features, an octagonal tower with an extensive library. The house has remained in the same family for two hundred years.
