Caption in 'Brief History of Red Hook' reads: 'Hoffman's Castle' This grand stone house was built by Martha Hoffman in about 1760 close to the family's enterprises at Hoffman's Mills. The Hoffmans helped develop Tivoli, the earliest community in the Town. The house no longer exists. Fred Briggs Collection.' Written on back: Actually near Tivoli. Demolished c 1915.
