The Heermance/Bulkeley House. One of the earliest houses in the town of Red Hook. It was built on West Kerleys Corners Road in Upper Red Hook in the early 18th century by the Heermances. They were listed in 1750 as pathmasters of the road, which led from inland farms to the river at Upper Red Hook landing (now Tivoli). The Locust trees, planted over 100 year ago to shade horses and wagons, once lined the road to Tivoli. Trees and farmhouse are on the National Register of Historic Places.
