Caption from 'A Brief History of Red Hook' reads: J.W. Hoffman House: Built as a primary residence by the family that owned the Tobacco Company in the mid-1800's, it was later the Hoffman Inn boarding house. In 1937 when the local high school burned it became the temporary school. It is now a bed and breakfast. Alice Norton Collection.
