Photograph postcard showing a view of Ray Brook from the dam. The railroad station is visible at left. Printed caption on front reads, “Dam at Ray Brook, N.Y. Embossed “W.S.W.” In upper left corner. Printed by Santway Photo-Craft Company, Watertown, NY. Used, divided back, postmarked Ray Brook, NY, January 29, 1919. Handwritten message on back reads, “Ray Brook N.Y. Jan 29 1919. Dear Sister. I received your letter some time ago but I cant get time to answer as time is scarce for writing. We have to stay out on the cure porch most all day and evening. We sleep out also. It is not very cold now. But when I first came up it would be as low as 28 below in the mor. It sure is a lovely place here but I don't want to stay any longer than I can help. I can't see any improvement as yet. In fact I have lost weight. Must close for now. Write when you can. Don't wait for me as I can't tell when I can find time. Will.” Mailed to Mrs. Arthur Converse, Clyde, NY.Subject Place
