Handwritten message on back reads, "Dear Mrs. Pettibone, I suppose Miss M told you I left the San Dec. 30 and am now at 33 Algonquin Ave and am feeling fine. Suppose you are looking forward to your southern trip and know you will enjoy it down there away from snow and cold weather. I am very tired of it and am just looking forward to going home but don't dare to now the weather is so bad there and my friends are all sick. J. Melville."
