Handwritten message on back reads, "Dear Grace: Rec'd your letter & glad to hear from you. I'm feeling fine but half frozen. It's quite cool here now. Guess it's fall all right. I'm still in bed but in a cottage "The Gillinder" [Gillender]. It's such a pretty cottage & just opened. Have a new porch mate, she's from NY City. Will try to write a letter next time.
