Printed caption on the front reads, "Riverside Inn, Saranac Lake, N. Y." Used, divided back, postmarked January 2, 1909. Printed by the Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co., Ltd., New York. Handwritten message on the back reads, "Received your pretty postal card and many thanks for same. We are getting along fine. I am gaining every day and Mother is feeling as good as usual. We have lots of snow here and has been snowing hard all day. We join in wishing you a Happy New Year. G.W. Hockstader." Mailed to Mrs. Darwin Toland, Sharon Springs, N. Y.
