Letter from William to Tarsilla Schuster, dated March 17, 1914. It reads, "Dear Toots, I have some good news at last. It seems the State Comm. of C. has taken the matter up with Schenectady and they wrote up and had me fill out the application so if they sign it then you will hear by Saturday when to come up. You are first on list. Now Sch will only pay the fare to Ray B. from Sch so it's up to you to pay it from N.Y. to Sch. Bring all your summer clothes and whatever you wish. The weather here is getting to be delightful warm and real springy. Bring also an apron along for the girls are called upon to do a little pot Rasselling (?) at times. I am glad this thing is finally settled and Garvin also said he is glad. Well old girl this has caused me a great deal of worry and am now relieved. Notify Mack and thank him also for whatever efforts he made. With love and kisses, your Will. P.S. Let me know just what day you come up. Now when Sch. tells you to come up and they don't send your ticket write up at once and tell them you haven't the fare and that they should send it to you from Sch to Ray Br. and that you will manage to get it from N.Y. to Sch. Ask for a ticket from Sch to Ray or an order to N.Y.C. so you can be presented it at Grand Central Sta. Come up on Empire 8:15 AM (get there early) and sit in center of coach (river side) Get # train off day before and be sure to ask if it is necessary to claim it at Sta. again.(Bring muff along) (Gloves) (Over shoes) (Cap) (Don't get fine underwear but strong ones.) (Watch) (Paint box) (M-o-n-e-y) (Good look) etc. Have your name in letter box so be sure no letter gets lost if they forget to put the c/o on. Send that tax receipt up please. We have a show here tonight and Wed." Included envelope addressed to "Mrs. W.J. Schuster 103 Ditmas Ave, Brooklyn, N.Y. c/o Mrs. M.A. Fletcher" and postmarked March 17, 1914 in Ray Brook.Collection
