Color postcard showing a dirt road alongside a tree-lined river. Printed caption on the front reads, "The River from Lake Flower Avenue Drive, Saranac Lake, N.Y." Used, divided back, postmarked August 12, rest illegible. The Valentine & Sons Publishing Co. Ltd. New York. Handwritten message on the back reads, "18 Helen St, Saranac Lake, NY. Dear Cousin, August 12, 1909 We are out on veranda in sunshine. One end is glass and awnings on the sides. People have reclining chairs. I enjoy them and think them good to take rest in. This air is delightful and only wish I could send you some today. The mts seem so near but [?] time left them so bare and brown rocks. We expect to go to Lake Placid some day and would like to go over to Paul Smiths which is very popular and crowded. I am sending a view of a small lake we can see from our veranda. I am anxious to know how the summer is going with you and our friends all. [?] sends love. Lovingly, Cornelia H.H.
