Description

Color postcard showing the Riverside Inn across the Saranac River, looking to the northeast. The original Harrietstown Town Hall and other buildings are visible around it. Printed caption on the front reads, "Riverside Inn from River, Saranac Lake, N.Y." Used, divided back, not mailed. Printed by the Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co., Ltd. Handwritten message across the entire back of the card reads, "DeKalb Junction, June 23, 1910. Dear Husband, I will write you just a few lines this morning. We are all well. I received your letter of the seventeenth yesterday, also a letter from home and a couple of very pretty birthday cards. Well Lester, you can think that the boys and I are over to Depeyster the second or third of July, if nothing happens, to stay a couple of days, going after strawberries to can. And, also some plants to set out. Everything is growing fine in the garden, but oh my it is hard work to do so much weeding. I wish you had half of it up there to busy yourself with. With my love to you I will say good-by. From Your Wife. I am glad you are feeling so much better if it only lasts."
