Black-and-white postcard showing various buildings at the Adirondack Cottage Sanitarium (later renamed Trudeau Sanatorium). The image features 13 small thumbnail images of Sanitarium buildings on a birch-effect background. Buildings include Baker Chapel, the Pavilion, and various cottages. The printed caption reads, "Greetings from the Adirondack Cottage Sanitarium, Saranac Lake, N.Y." Used, undivided back, white border and text box, postmark illegible. No printer's mark. Printed caption on back reads, "Private mailing card, authorized by act of Congress of May 19, 1898. ('Postal Card--Carte Postale')" Handwritten message on front reads, "Oct. 24, 1901. Dear Lena: Your postal of 16th rec'd, and will say I am sorry I could not join you at Buffalo, but it was impossible for me to get away. Hastily, Ellen." Mailed to Miss Helena Shields, 832 State St., Schenectady, NY.
