Color postcard showing the view to the Robert Louis Stevenson Cottage from across the Saranac River in the evening. Printed caption on front reads, "Baker Cottage, the Home of Robt. Louis Stevenson, Saranac Lake, N.Y." Printed by the Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co., Ltd., New York. Used, divided back, postmarked Saranac Lake, November [?], 1909. Handwritten message on back reads, "Thursday Night. Dear Mother- I wish if you have not sent my things you would send my screen--it is in the garret--Charley will put the hinges on it. And it will be nice to put up around my bed in the sitting room--just as I used to do when on Central St. Tie it good and wind some burlapse or carpet around it so it won't get to mared up. I guess father will be glad if I ever get through. But your can fix that I know. Charley sits here reading and seems to enjoy his home & paper. Floss." Mailed to Mrs. J. F.
