Postcard with an advertisement for the 1909 International Tuberculosis Exhibition in Philadelphia. Has image of a woman holding a double-barred cross in one hand and using a spear in her other hand against a giant snake labeled "consumption." Her headband is marked, "victory." Below the image the card reads, "International Tuberculosis Exhibition. Held in Philadelphia, Feb. 15th to Mar. 15th at 919-921 Walnut St. Consumption is curable and preventable." No printer's mark. Reverse side has double-barred cross and reads, "International Tuberculosis Exhibition. Wiping out Consumption means saving over one million lives every year." Used, divided back, postmarked Blooming[?], PA, May 14, 1909. Handwritten message on back reads, "Jake was confirmed on the 11 day of June 1892. We have his certificate. Did you forget that. Mrs.Shirley." Mailed to Mrs. Jacob Shirley, [?], PA.Collection
