Postcard with an image of a train, with an inset portrait of Dr. Robert Koch. Printed on front is, "Souvenir of the Electric Line, Tuberculosis Congress, Washington, Sept. 21 to Oct. 12, 1908. Type of 55-ton cars used on the greatest double track interurban electric railway in the world. Cars every half hour. Washington, Baltimore, and Annapolis Electric Railway." Caption under Koch's portrait reads, "Dr. Robert Koch, the noted discoverer of the tuberculosis bacillus." No printer's mark. Used, divided back, postmarked Washington, DC, October 7, 1908. Handwritten message on back reads, "Letter just received. Thanks. Cheer up. Dr. Ball goes home today. Will write soon. Yours H.B. B." Mailed to Mrs. Henry B.Ball. c/o H C Harvey. Germantown. New York.
