Black-and-White photograph postcard showing a young Bill Distin chopping at a tree with an axe. No photographer’s mark. Used, undivided back, white space at bottom front for message, postmarked Saranac Lake, August 24, 1907. Handwritten message on front reads, “Card rec’d, am awfully sorry but nothing has arrived yet. Thought you had given up altogether. Hope all that work was not in vain—the 1 1/2 days taken scrubbing. W.G.D.” Mailed to Miss Ethel E. Brown, Euclid, NY.
