We Take to Bed by Marshall McClintock, 1931. This novel was written by Marshall McClintock after his experiences with tuberculosis treatment in Saraanc Lake. His wife Helene was a patient, and he may have worked at the Laboratory at Trudeau Sanatorium, based upon the novel, but this has not been confirmed. Marshall was also a likely patient himself, having been diagnosed after they moved to Saranac Lake. It has a fictionalized cast of characters based upon doctors, nurses, and patients they met during their years in Saranac Lake.
There is a "key" to the characters in the novel written by Eva Leah Levin, who was also a patient. This key can be found in Levin's personal copy of the book, held by the Adirondack Room of the Saranac Lake Free Library.
Handwritten inscription inside front and rear covers, "G. L. Fies [?]."
