Description

Auction Action Fun Bucks for WNBZ's Auction. The bucks are from two different runs, one in 1964 and the other in 1996. The 1964 bucks, the 5 and 10 with the portrait of "Shagnasty," a man wearing a hat, have the following instructions on the back, "Auction bucks are good only when used to bid for merchandise. The above merchants [38 local businesses are listed at the top] are giving auction bucks on at least a one-for-one basis with all sales. Patronize the auction buck sponsors. Collect auction bucks. Use auction bucks to bid on valuable articles, April 30, 1964. Listen to WNBZ radio for details and lists of bid merchandise." The 1996 bucks come in different colors and have a portrait of "KJ DeGaboway" on the front and an advertisement for Adirondack Bank on the reverse.
