Black-and-white photograph showing firefighters spraying water on the Berkeley House, likely on January 1, 1925. A large tree, decorated for Christmas, can be seen in the intersection of Main Street and Broadway. Ladders and fire hoses run up the front porches of the building, and two men are standing along the wall of the top floor spraying the larger section of the hotel. People can be seen moving around on the street and sidewalks below. There is snow on the ground, and icicles hang down the roofline from the water spray. An I-shaped Hotel Berkley [sic] Restaurant sign hangs on the second floor of the building. Signs for the Clinton J. Ayers Insurance/Real Estate and Saranac Lake Savings & Loan Association offices can be seen in the windows. Handwritten note on back reads, "Berkeley Hotel Sarnac Ayers Ins."Made/Created
