Large leather-bound volume created to mark the 25th anniversary of the Adirondack Cottage Sanitarium (later renamed Trudeau Sanatorium) in 1910. Former patients of the Sanatorium/Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau submitted messages of thanks and well-wishes on small white cards, which were then attached to the pages of the book. The book is organized by year (unknown if year of patient’s arrival or departure). Cards include photographs, poems, artwork, illuminated text, and more.
The volume is bound in light brown leather with silver corner decorations and "1885 ACS 1910" silver lettering on the front cover. A label bearing the name and logo of the Workshop, Trudeau, NY is pasted inside the front cover. The initials M.W.S. are written on the label in pen. The book was most likely crafted in the workshop by a paitent or instructor.
Notes from patients came from all over the world. The names in this volume have been transcribed, contact Historic Saranac Lake to request further information.Collection
