Article, "Adirondack Canoe Routes" by William G. Howard, M. F., Assistant Superintendent of State Forests, published in the Recreational Circular 7. The article describes the various canoe routes throughout the Adirondacks as well as the proper equipment for canoeing, a list of public campsites, and methods of travel to the routes. The main routes in the Saranac Lake region are the Indian and Bartlett Carries. There are also printed photographs of nature scenes and canoes. Tucked into the back of the booklet is a 14"x28" map of the described canoe routes. Originally written in 1920 but republished in 1957.Lexicon
