Medal issued to Parnell Meagher by the Village of Saranac Lake for his service in World War I. Two-part pin. Top bar has eagle and reads, "For service," medallion has image of a soldier and sailor standing at attention below Lady Liberty on obverse, reading "For Democracy, Liberty, and Justice." Reverse of medallion has image of eagle over land and sea battle scenes, surrounding the seal of the Village of Saranac Lake. Reads, "Presented by the People of Saranac Lake, N. Y. to their Loyal Defenders." Reverse is hand engraved with the name, "P. Meagher."
