Black-and-White photograph postcard showing an aerial view of the New York State Hospital for Incipient Tuberculosis (AKA Ray Brook Sanatorium). No photographer's mark. Used, divided back, white border, postmarked Ray Brook, NY, April 21, 1938.
Handwritten message on reverse reads, "Dear folks, This is sort of a bird's eye view of the place. My room is in the building at the extreme left. I am getting caught up on all my lost sleep and feel fine. It must be the air but I can sleep all afternoon and still be sleepy at bed time. Today is my birthday and I don't feel at day older. Love, Emerson." Mailed to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hatcher, Berea College 522, Berea, KY.Subject Place
