Scope and Content

Handwritten note from a tuberculosis patient, expressing admiration for Edward Livingston Trudeau. Note begins, "A Comment from a patient at Saranac to Dr. F. B. Trudeau. Outstanding in the story of your father's life, which I have just read, was his talent for helping others. He had in him that magic something like to that of the gray haired man in the story of "The Old Violin." In both men was the power and touch of "The Master's hand." Bare-headed, I salute them!" Note continues with the text of the poem, "Story of the Old Violin." Written on lined legal paper.
