Letter reads: Nov. 11, 187[?]. My Dear Mrs. Leonard, I received your kind note yesterday & only wish I could accept your invitation to spend a day with you, but I am afraid it is impossible. I expect to leave here tomorrow & shall be at Mrs. Smiths until Wednesday morning, when we expect to go to Rhinebeck, stay there until Thursday night when we hope to start for the woods, reaching Saranac on Saturday night. I can't tell you how sorry I am not to see you again, I am [?] now it will not be until next summer, when I hope you will be in the woods. Papa joins me in [?] Mr. Leonard & yourself. [?] wishing I would have seen more of you, I am as ever yours affectionately, Lottie G. Trudeau."
