Letter sent by R. Solum, Acting Consul General at the Royal Norwegian Consulate General's office, to Spear Cottage, 90 Riverside Drive, October 24, 1945. On Consulate General letterhead, New York City. Mailed to Spear Cottage, 90 Riverside Drive, Saranac Lake, N. Y.
Letter reads, "Gentlemen: During the war this Consulate General has had several Norwegian tuberculosis patients in your hospital for a lengthy period for treatment. As the Norwegian tuberculosis patients now have been sent home to Norway, I wish to express to you our gratitude for the very fine treatment and care given these seamen in your hospital and for all the courtesy extended to them by doctors, nurses and the personnel of the hospital. I know that the patients themselves were very much encouraged by the fine treatment and understanding attitude shown to them. I do not need to say that the Norwegian home-authorities join the Norwegian Consulate General in New York in the gratitude here expressed. Very Sincerely Yours, R. Solum, Acting Consul General."Lexicon
