Letter sent by "Sister Frances" to Charles Taborelli, December 31, 1926. 1s., 3p., with envelope. Mailed from 20 River Street, Saranac Lake, to 512 14th Street, Union City, NJ.
Letter reads, "Remember me to Fluffy. Dec. 31st, 1926.
Dear Charles,
No I'll not blame you for being late sending me a gift because I really never expected any and I was very happy to receive same. I want to thank you lots for it for Joe and I were sure surprised. It felt good to receive a letter from you as I know you are a very lazy boy when it comes to correspondence. I sure will add it to my list of gifts. Yes, my darling husband was the biggest Christmas gift and made my holiday an enjoyable one.
I can just picture the cuff links Betty gave you. I'm quite anxious to see them. If they are as pretty as her they must be the cat's pajamas.
Al being a little narrow-minded asked me to have you give me a detailed account of that eventful evening after Betty had acquired the pajamas. The curiosity of some people, eh? Al thinks it must have been an enjoyable evening. I guess he knows.
Yes I certainly can say I had a cheerful Christmas being my first time in my life away from home during the holiday. It was too bad Day couldn't have been with us because I know she would have had a wonderful time.
To-night during the later part of the evening Joe, Agnes, Eddie, Al, and I will be in Joe's room and we are going to devour the can goods Mother sent us along with the wine Mother gave Al to take up here and I feel as tho we'll have a Happy New Year.
The day before yesterday Al took me over to the doctors and he's found my condition has improved wonderful and has given me a little exercise and I am allowed to go to the movies once a week. I now weigh 112lbs. I made a gain of 5 lbs in 2 1/2 mos. time. I really weigh 114 lbs because the doctor's scales are always kept 2 lbs light. They don't want you to take advantage of the increase in weight. My face has filled out a great deal and also my "can." Haha. Something I didn't want to fill out. I guess I've told you all and wish you all a happy New Year and here's hoping I'll be with you soon. Love Sister Frances."Subject Place
