Letter reads, "To our Hero:-- The people of our Village want to show their grateful appreciation of what you have done for us--for the patriotic service you have rendered--the sacrifices you have made. To give expression to this appreciation, we are going to celebrate in your honor--to give you a rousing WELCOME HOME on APRIL 10th, 1919. The programme in part will consist of open house at the Saranac Lake Club, Berkeley Hotel Building, all day. Here the Reception Committee will be on hand to greet you and to extend the hospitality of the Club and our People. Here refreshments will be served throughout the day to all Soldiers, Sailors, and War Workers in Uniform. In the afternoon, the programme will open with an escort parade which will form at the Grand Union Hotel, Bloomingdale Avenue and Depot Street, at 2 P. M. and start promptly. It is particularly desired that all Service Men and War Workers participate in this event in UNIFORM. The escort will consist of the various organizations in the Village. This feature will be followed by a WELCOME HOME address and other exercises which the committee is at this time planning.
