Description

Black and white copy print, the RUSSELL S. washed up on the shoreline along Water Street after the hurricane of 1938. Given to the Society by Harry Northup before his death. With note: "This is a picture of the aftermath of the 1938 Hurricane. In the foreground is a small lobster boat sunk. The two men are not known to me. The large dragger sitting on the sea wall of my uncle Eddie's property if the RUSSELL S. The house in the center of this picture with a small porch on the second floor is my uncle's. The boats forward of the RUSSELL S. is the ALICE & JENNIE, the ANNA C. and the last one is the ST. PETER. My uncle has six feet of water in his basement."
