Black and white photograph of the Vargas Brothers Ice Company harvesting at ice at Sylvia's Pond in the winter of 1937. Handwritten on back: "Photo is reversed in error by Payne Camera, Feb. 1974. Prior to 1938 Hurricane era and probably Jan. 1936 or 1937 (confirmed by Joe Vargas Sr. ledger payroll). It looks like Sherman Watrous Chase picking a float of 18 cakes."Collection
