A collection of 19th century magazines collected by Estella Whipple, mother of the donor, Ruth Crocker. • Methodist Almanac, 1857 • Youths Casket and Playmate, a Magazine for Boys and Girls, May 1861 • The Mother’s Magazine & Family Circle, January 1875 • Peterson’s Magazine January 1887 * • Godey’s Lady’s Book, November 1850 Peterson’s Magazine has the name Mrs. Earnest A. Palmer written across the top. Ernest Albert Palmer (1864-1941) was born in Groton to William Palmer and Sarah Cromwell. He married Ida Fitch (1864-1946) in 1886. Ida and Ernest appear to not have had children. Buried in Noank Valley Cemetery.
